Lessons From Egypt

2011 will remain etched in the minds of all Egyptians of this generation.  No one had an inkling around the world and even in Egypt itself when the year was ushered in on January 1, 2011 that Egypt will change dramatically.  But it has!

The events that propelled the Egyptian Revolution was propelled by the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia some weeks before when the Tunisians through popular uprising overthrew their President, Ben Ali who held sway for over 23 years.  He fled the country and it was recorded as a once in a lifetime achievement by the Tunisians.  Few days later, the Egyptians took to the street and persistently, courageously and valiantly demanded the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak who has led the country for 30 years keeping the entire Egypt on State of Emergency throughout his period in office.

The lessons from the events of Egypt at a personal level for people who are looking for change in their lives is monumental and very significant.  For 18 days, the people refuse to leave Liberation Square as they demanded the stepping down of the long time leader.

What is it that you have been pursuing in your life?  Have you persisted enough to see it come through?  Are you going to give up and your sacrifice of all the past be wasted?  Do you have the stamina to hold on a little while and see the result of your effort produce result?

Our Egyptians friends have changed their nation forever.  I commented on my facebook page yesterday that if Mubarak can be brought down by an 18-day civilized uprising, then any situation in life can be defeated.
Do not ever under estimate the power of your persistence and resilient spirit.  It can work wonders and change your life.  Keep the flag of hope flying based on your clear and concise vision, pursue it diligently and courageously even if there are odds.  Change is about to come to your life.

Enjoy your weekend.
